Italian bayonet RARE 1870-91 long shortened model during WW1 for Vetterli rifle 1870 and Vetterli 1870-87-16.
Unusual bayonet, sometimes you have to search long enough before you find it, and it’s a must in a collection.
The plates ending in an arch at the pommel side, in plastic, 1 black and 1 brown, the black is missing a small piece (see photos).
The blade has been shortened and reduced from 515 mm to 239 mm during WW1, due to this, the fullers are going until the end of the blade.
