This Daimler Scout Car, known in service as the Daimler "Dingo", was a very popular British light fast, four wheel drive, reconnaissance vehicle.
It was designed by BSA however produced by Daimler.
The Dingo was a compact two-man armoured car, well protected for its size with 30 mm of armour at the front and powered by a 2.52 litre 55 bhp. straight six petrol engine located at the rear of the vehicle.
One of the ingenious features of Dingo's design was the transmission which included a pre-selector gearbox and a fluid flywheel that gave five speeds in both directions! Independent coil suspension makes it remarkably comfortable to drive. A swivelling seat beside the driver allowed the second crew member to attend to the No. 19 wireless set or the Bren Gun.
This older restoration is in very good running condition. It is painted in a REME configuration as being used in Tunisia in 1942. This Dingo comes with all correct details and many accessories such as an original British No. 19 wireless set, Jack, ammo and petrol bins, antennas and camouflage net. The vehicle is restored in The Netherlands in the early nineties. Comes with Dutch road registration licence AH-51-42.
