Get a restored collector's item, completely original
This visually beautiful and technically perfect KLEIN-ADLER 1 from 1913 has the serial number 115591 and is a very early machine. The production of the KLEIN-ADLER began in 1912 at the ADLER-WERKE Heinrich Kleyer AG, Frankfurt/Main, Germany. It was developed as an alternative to the larger office typewriter, ADLER 7.
Like the ADLER 7, it operates with a 3-row QWERTY keyboard with double switching. The typical ADLER technology, namely the “bumper device,” is used here: the bumpers strike the roller via a hardened steel plate and cause the letters to imprint.
Due to their low weight, their size, and also because of their robustness, it was one of the first travel typewriters ("portables"). It was used by the GERMAN ARMY in the field during WORLD WAR I.
This machine has been completely cleaned by an expert and tested. All pieces are original. Even the ribbon works. It will be delivered in the original wooden case, which is also in good condition appropriate for its age. The case is lockable and the ADLER company logo is still clearly visible on the front.
Size of the suitcase: 33 x 34 x 15 cm.
Of course, the machine has a few signs of wear due to age. Please, check the pictures. There you can see that it's a museum-worthy, technical antique.
It will be carefully packed and sent insured.
