Breitling - Chronomat 769 18k - 217012 - Uomo - 1901-1949
This is a unique and very rare Breitling, which belonged to my grandfather.
He bought it with his first salary after he stopped fighting as a soldier in WW2.
Gold-coloured Arabic dial in used condition. It has the red telemeter in its centre and small second subdial at 9 o'clock and chrono subdial at 3 o'clock.
The patent number 217 012, preceded by the Swiss cross, is written horizontally and in the centre of the telemeter.
It is signed: "Breitling Chronomat".
The watch is in very good working condition, including the chronograph, with proper resetting.
The Venus 175 timepiece with 17 jewels has been cleaned by the nominated watchmaker Van Laer.
Please note there is no bridge signature as this is an early model (Breitling signatures were introduced after 1945).
Based on the serial number, you can see it was made in 1945.
Marked "MODEL # 769" on the outside of the case back, as well as serial #.
Case is 36 mm wide.
On the inside of the case back you find the 18kt/750 mark and the Helvetia head.
Glass in perfect condition.
The old leather strap on this watch will be included, but I would suggest the buyer changes this for something to his personal taste.
Traceable and insured shipment is included!
