These porcelain (no earthenware!) plates were produced in Japan and were there partly decorated in transfer technique, and partly decorated by hand in cobalt blue after Dutch illustrations. At Royal Goedewaagen in Gouda the plans were then glazed with lead glaze (clear lead glaze). The plates depict the 4 seasons in 19th-century Dutch landscapes. They are signed on the back with: "Royal (crown) Japan Delfts Blauw Handwerk". A very decorative set of plates for on the wall! Dimensions each plate: Diameter 19 cm Height 1.8 cm Rim diameter (with which 2 mounting holes) 13 cm Will be carefully packed and sent with track & trace.
