‘Snelweger’ factory has been founded in 1835 in Utrecht, the Netherlands as instrument factory by Hendrik Olland. Due to the high quality, professor Buys Ballot requested him to make the meteorological instruments for his laboratory. This was later supplemented with compasses, sextants, levels, precision equipment, precision balances, and standard measurements. In 1907, it was started with the manufacturing of scales for shop use, 'snelwegers' (quick weighers). From the instrument maker-background, the Olland factory was able to make many types of devices and instruments, which they also have frequently done until 1926 from Utrecht, the Netherlands and then from De Bilt, the Netherlands until 1970.
Because of the weight of the scale, it is preferred to pick it up in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
